Hello, I'm Melissa M, and what I do can be described by any and all of these titles: Instructional designer, Learning Designer, Learning Architect, Learner Experience Designer, Instructional Design Specialist, Learning Strategist, Content Developer, Educational Consultant, Instructional Design Technologist, Educational Technologist, eLearning Designer, and occasional superhero!
My experience, background and education is in all of the areas I listed, plus technology, communication, graphic design and fine art. I have more than 10 years of experience designing multimedia presentations and eLearning modules. I'm also experienced in needs assessment, course design, instructor-led training, audio/video, graphic design, and eLearning design and development. In 2017, I earned an MS in Instructional Design Technology. My BA is in Communication, and my first degree was an AAB in Communication Design (Graphic Design).
I believe in social learning as a great way to improve your skills, so in this blog, I will be writing about my experiences in design with a sprinkling of things I learned in grad school. I had some fantastic professors and mentors that I credit with helping me on my journey.
